Kurbelwellen-Benzinanlasser

The Kurbelwellen-Benzinanlasser or KBA in short, is an external starter engine that could be used in several ways on a large range of vehicles.

My information comes almost completely from photographing the device in the Panzermuseum in Munster. I think the device could be used on the Tiger1 either directly attached to the engines crank-shaft, or driving the inertia starter. In the last case it could be placed on the ground or in the back of a truck.
According to the text on one of the photos, the device should be used at temperatures below -20°C since the vehicles where not able to start the engines then. It could also be useful to use the device in higher temperatures to spare the vehicles batteries.
