Mg34 Ball Mount (Kugelblende 100)The line of fire horizontal = +15 / -15 degrees, vertical = +20 / -10 degrees according to "D.W to Tiger1". "The Tiger Tank: A British view" mentions +20 / -7 degrees, which I believe to be incorrect.(Possible inaccurate because of difficult measuring on the actual vehicle.)
The drawings in the books show that on the left the angle of the firing port is larger than the one on the right. The reason for it is that the gunner's KZF2 sight has a vision angle of 18 degrees. This means that half the angle (9 degrees) should be added to the left angle, making the left angle of the firing port 24 degrees.
On this page I only provide the dimensions of parts visible on the outside. The real ball looks completely different on the inside. I do not draw it here because it's original construction requires machining several parts with a tolerance of 1/10mm. For a model, a much more simplified construction will do fine.

When printing these pdf images, make sure these are not "scaled to fit". If printed correctly, the drawing edges should be "centimeter" scale. |
